The Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) is one of the oldest philanthropic institutions in india and has played a pioneering role in changing traditional ideas of charity. Jamesthji Tata who founded this foundation was the prominent personality of the nation.

From Educational & Medical grants for individuals / organizations to addressing health, governance and cultural issues for the communities, the trust plays an important role.

Development Orientation:
The Trusts is largely known for making individual grants for education and medical relief, they also offers institutional grants. Education, health and support for allied trusts are the mainstay of institutional grant making, with a few grants also being offers for the promotion of arts and heritage, women’s development, rural development, etc.

Apart from concentrating on funding the establishment of prestigious and pioneering institutions, the Trusts responded to requests from individuals and institutions, on an ad-hoc basis.
